ASU Olympians
Dissecting their psyche
United States Silver Medalist and four-time Olympic
Coach Zeke Jones sits at the helm of a growing ASU
Wrestling program, one that Jones said has all the
components to be successful.
Jones is another recent acquisition under Athletic Director Ray Anderson, who saw the hall-of-fame coach as an opportunity to continue to expand ASU's olympic prospect and outlook within its wrestling program. Jones said he wanted to return to the place that is, "like home to him" after coaching here briefly following his silver-medal performance at the Games in 1992.
Jones said that representing the United States in the Olympics and then getting a medal hung around the neck is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon any athete. It is what you do with that honor and responsibility, Jones said, that matters. To him, it's coaching future Olympic athletes to catch the same dream they fight and struggle for each day.
